Plastic Odyssey 

Paris – June 2018 

Plastic Odyssey has launched the first around-the-world expedition on a boat powered solely by plastic waste. On board, a pyrolysis unit transforms non-recyclable plastic into fuel that powers the boat. Their goal is two-fold: to collect ocean plastics for research purposes, and showcase the potential of marine plastic as a sustainable resource.

SASMINIMUM collaborated with Plastic Odyssey to help cement their mission into the physical construction of their vessel. Turning plastic waste from the ocean into nautical building materials! Together, we show how green design can help conquer today’s environmental crisis.
